Oxifree TM198

Oxifree’s Polymelt TM 198 is an organic, cellulose-based plastic that uses rapeseed oil as an inhibitor. It is an environmentally friendly and highly cost-effective corrosion protection solution.

TM 198 is melted down from a solid resin (in the supply unit).
It is applied using a heated hose and gun.

TM 198 provides an organic, pliable thermoplastic barrier coating, which will protect all types of metal components against corrosion.

The product does not adhere to the surface but lies flush against it, bonding instead to the structure itself. As the product cools after application, rapeseed oil separates from it and settles between the product and the surface, forming a tight barrier that effectively blocks oxygen access.

Non-adherent & self-lubricating

A key feature of the TM 198 encapsulation system is the non-adherence to the substrate, along with the self-lubricating properties.
This allows any components that need to move, to do so.

Easy access and maintenance

The material can easily be cut and removed for access and maintenance, the area of removed material can then be refilled as the newly applied material will bond to the existing TM 198. Alternatively, the protected substrate can be inspected via UT directly through the material.

No downtime - immidiate protection

There is no downtime during application and protection is provided immediately, bringing savings to both CapEx and OpEx. TM 198 is proven to extend the lifecycle of components and reduce maintenance costs.

Oxifree is a non-flammable product that requires minimal surface preparation (ST2).
It is easy to remove or replace with a new coating for repairs or inspections, and equally easy to reapply afterwards.
The coating is approved for NDT and does not need to be removed prior to inspection.
